What is the Scope of Amendments In the Biocidal Products Regulation?
The provisional application and sealed sampling process, which caused difficulties in the registration process in the Biocidal Products Regulation has been abolished. It was decided that only the biological efficacy tests of pest control products would be performed in authorized laboratories. These amendments will ensure that the Biocidal Products Regulation and its implementation are closer to the EU legislation and practice, and the licensing process of biocidal products will be simplified.
In addition, biocidal products with newly licensed or renewed licenses will be inspected at least once by sampling and physical and chemical analyses are performed, thus increasing the efficiency of market surveillance activities.
