It is a requirement for each product to have at least some information on the packaging within the scope of “Regulation on Classification, Labelling and Packing of Materials and Mixtures” published by the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning with number 28848 on 11 December 2013. The document, in which the product information is compiled and attached to the product’s packaging, is called the "Product Label". Information about the content and minimum dimensions of the labels is included in the “Regulation for Classification, Labelling and Packing of Materials and Mixtures No. 28848” for Turkey.
The most important issue to be aware of when preparing a label for a product is that the "Product Label" and "Product Safety Data Sheet" documents are compatible with each other. The Product Label should meet the minimum requirements in accordance with the Regulation. In accordance with the relevant Regulation, Product Label dimensions are increasing in direct proportion to the packaging size of the product. Exceptions exist for products with small packaging dimensions, and some essential obligatory information is exceptional for some products which are below a certain amount.
It is a legal obligation that the labels should be prepared in the country's language. That means, if you are exporting the product to any country you are obliged to prepare the label according to the language and legislation of that country.
