What is KKDIK?

The KKDIK Regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) is the Turkish adaptation of the EU REACH Regulation in line with the requirements of the Turkish industry. The aim of the KKDIK Regulation is to ensure the control of chemicals within the Republic of Türkiye.

The KKDIK Regulation entered into force on 23 December 2017 and covers the provisions on registration, restriction, and authorisation of chemical substances.

Procedures and Principles Regarding the Implementation of KKDIK

The main topics of these Procedures and Principles include pre-registration deadlines, the determination of the lead registrant, temporary registration, and the establishment of expert consultation systems.

KKDIK Deadlines

According to the Procedures and Principles, the KKDIK deadlines are as follows:

31.10.2025

  • Registrants must complete pre-registration and become members of the SIEF by this date.
  • For substances manufactured and/or imported for the first time after 31.10.2025, pre-registration must be completed within 30 days after being placed on the market.

31.12.2025

  • Lead registrants for substances placed on the market before the publication of the Procedures and Principles must be determined by this date.
  • For substances placed on the market for the first time after publication, the lead registrant must be determined within six months.

31.03.2026

  • If the lead registrant cannot fulfil the full registration obligations, a temporary registration must be submitted by this date.
  • Companies intending to submit an individual dossier instead of participating in a joint submission must also complete temporary registration by this date if they cannot meet full registration requirements.
  • Registrants (lead or individual) who prefer to submit a full registration dossier instead of temporary registration must submit their dossiers by this date.

30.09.2026

  • Following the temporary registration by the lead registrant, member registrants must submit their temporary registrations to the Ministry by this date.
