Regarding the Registration of Active Substances in Biocidal Products
About the Relevant Authority Approval
According to Articles 17 and 29 of the Biocidal Products Regulation, the Ministry of Health's General Directorate of Public Health, Environmental Health Department, is authorized and responsible for evaluating the active substances contained in biocidal products and making decisions on their approval or non-approval for use in biocidal products. However, until recently, no applications for the registration of active substances had been submitted, and therefore no work had been carried out in this regard. Instead, lists published by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), which include active substances permitted in the European Union (EU) market, have been followed.
Since applications for the registration of chemical and biological active substances have been submitted to the Ministry of Health's General Directorate of Public Health, Environmental Health Department, an official approval has been published to evaluate these applications and decide on the approval or non-approval of their use in biocidal products.
