KKDIK (Turkish REACH) Regulation Published
The long-awaited "Registration, Evaluation, Permission and Restriction of Chemicals”, abbreviation of KKDIK as Turkish, was published by the Turkey's Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning on June 23, 2017 in the Official Gazette No. 30105. The Regulation shall enter into force on the date of 23.12.2017 with the exception of the transitional periods specified in some cases.
The substances covered by the KKDIK (Turkish REACH) Regulation shall not be manufactured or imported or submitted to the market in Turkey without being registered after the transitional periods in the relevant Regulation.
The KKDIK (Turkish REACH) Regulation has similar features in terms of content and implementation with the REACH Regulation published in Europe. However, there are partial differences, and the most important of them is the “Chemical Safety Expert”, which is stated in the KKDIK (Turkish REACH) Regulation. It is a mandatory that a Chemical Safety Report is confirmed by a Chemical Safety Expert whom has qualifications specified in Annex-18 of the KKDIK.

With KKDIK (Turkish REACH), the following regulations are repealed on different dates;
- "Regulation on the Inventory and Control of Chemicals" numbered 27092: It has been repealed as of publication date of KKDIK.
- "Regulation on Safety Data Sheets Related to the Hazardous substances and Mixtures’’ numbered 29204: It shall be repealed as of 31 December 2023.
- "Regulation on Restriction Regarding to Manufacture placing on the Market and Use of Certain Hazardous Substances, Preparations and Articles’’ numbered 27092: It shall be repealed as of enter into force date of KKDIK. (Also, there are some exceptions for that)
Important dates related to KKDIK (Turkish REACH)
- Pre-registrations: can be submitted until the date 31 December 2020.
- Registrations: should be completed until the date 31 December 2023 in case of pre-registered substances
