Preparation of Safety Data Sheets and Turkey REACH Regulation

KKDIK (Turkish REACH) Regulation, expected by the long-standing Turkish Chemical Industry, was published on 23 June 2017 and will enter into force on 23 December 2017.

Currently, the Safety Data Sheets of Chemicals are prepared in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulation on Safety Data Sheets for Hazardous Substances and Mixtures" number 29204 in Turkey. Regulation No. 29204 will be repealed from the effective date as of December 31, 2023. During this transition period, the Safety Data Sheets may continue to be prepared in accordance with Regulation No: 29204.

As of December 31, 2023, the Safety Data Sheets (MSDS / SDS) prepared for the Turkish industry will only be prepared considering the criteria of KKDIK Regulation Annex-2.

Certain criteria and amendments will apply for the Safety Data Sheets to be prepared for the Turkish industry under the KKDIK (Turkish REACH) Regulation. Apart from the general coverage of the Safety Data Sheets to be prepared in the new period, there will also be changes in the content information. One of the most important considerations in the matter is that the Safety Data Sheets will be prepared only by the Chemical Assessment Experts, not by the Safety Data Sheet Preparation Certified persons.
