KKDIK Registrations Exceed 42,000: Chemical Registration System to Remain Open

06.10.2026

The Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change published an announcement dated 5 October 2026 concerning the registration process under the KKDIK (TR REACH) Regulation.

According to the announcement, more than 42,000 registrations had been submitted to the Ministry as of 30 September 2026. The Ministry stated that a small number of technical errors had occurred in the Chemical Registration System (KKS) during the process, but that the system had generally remained operational without interruption.

The announcement states that the KKS will remain open to allow companies to continue submitting registrations and notifications under the KKDIK and SEA (TR CLP) Regulations, register new substances, update dossiers, and complete applications that have not received a registration number due to system-related issues.

Accordingly, companies that have completed their applications but have not yet received a registration number may, where necessary, use their application numbers until their registration numbers are issued.

The announcement also states that companies submitting registration applications must pay the revolving fund fees within 15 days of submitting their applications. The dossier evaluation process will begin after payment.

Further Announcements Expected from the Ministry

  • Tonnage updates: Technical work is under way on the KKS to enable tonnage updates for temporary registration dossiers. Companies that need to make updates should wait for a further announcement from the Ministry.
  • Requests for extensions: Infrastructure is being prepared to allow extension requests to be submitted through the KKS for substances with temporary registrations whose full registration deadline is 31 December 2026. Further information will be provided in due course.
  • Inspections: Work is ongoing on inspection procedures for the manufacture and import of companies subject to registration obligations.
