Meryem Civil Orhan graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Marmara University. She completed her laboratory internship during university education at HABAŞ and gained her initial work experience there. As her thesis project, she served as the project coordinator in the TÜBİTAK 2209-A supported project titled 'Control of Structural and Morphological Properties of Calcium Carbonate with Ala-Gly.'

She began her professional career in 2021 at CHEMLEG Consulting. As a member of the technical translation team, she supported the team in translating KKDIK (Turkish Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals) dossiers, contributing to the expansion of the translation memory and relevant terminology. Shortly thereafter, she proved herself in this field and was promoted to the task of registering chemicals in the registration system. In 2022, she completed the Chemical Assessment Specialist (KDU) training within the company and earned the chemical assessment specialist certificate.

With her outstanding effort and success, in the first half of 2023, she continued her role as the team leader in the KKDIK Technical team. In this context, she ensured the maintenance of healthy communication within the team, distributed tasks, carried out planning related to registration files, and supported communication with client companies.

Later, Meryem Civil Orhan transitioned to the Biocidal team, where she actively took on responsibilities such as the licensing of biocidal products, preparation of technical files, and communication with clients. She continues her career as a Biocidal Product Licensing Consultant.
