Haydar Hazer graduated from the Middle East Technical University Chemistry Department in 1989. From 1997 to 1999, he pursued a master's degree in Analytical Chemistry at the Hacettepe University Chemistry Department. Between 1990 and 1994, he served as a chemistry teacher in the Ministry of National Education. In 1994, he began working as a chemist at the Ministry of Environment and worked continuously for 24 years until 2018 in the Administration of Chemicals Management.
During these years, he directly participated in various processes such as the preparation of the "The Inventory of Existing Chemicals", Evaluation of Substances, Corporate Structure and Capacity Enhancement Project in the Field of Chemicals, preparation of the "Turkish Regulation on the Classification, Packaging, and Labeling of Hazardous Substances and Mixtures," preparation of the "Turkish Regulation on Inventory and Control of Chemicals," preparation of the "Turkish Regulation on the Classification, Labeling, and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (SEA)," and preparation of the "Turkish Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (KKDIK)."
Within the framework of the European Union Legislation Compliance projects conducted by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization between 2006 and 2012, he successfully completed 400 hours of training on Chemicals Management, Classification and Labeling of Chemicals, REACH General, Environmental Risk Assessment, Human Health Risk Assessment, Exposure Scenarios, Chemical Safety Assessment, and Chemical Safety Report.
He actively participated in and represented Turkey in key meetings such as the "New and Existing Chemicals Competent Authorities Meeting," "REACH Competent Authorities Meeting," and "CARACAL Competent Authorities Meeting" between 2004 and 2012, playing a decisive role in EU chemicals management. Throughout this process, he closely followed the REACH Regulation and its implementations, and continues to do so.
Haydar Hazer retired from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization in January 2018. In March 2018, he provided the first "Chemical Assessment Specialist (KDU) Training" in Turkey under the KKDIK Regulation Annex-18. Later, within the scope of the "Technical Support Project for the Conduct of Chemical Safety Assessments under the REACH Regulation" conducted by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization (November 2019 - November 2021), he served as a Chemical Assessment Specialist.
In addition to all these, since 2015, Haydar Hazer has been working with Chemleg, sharing his experience and knowledge with colleagues who have been serving in the industry for many years with an open-minded approach to learning and innovation.
