What is Non-Medical Veterinary Health Product
It has to be known before everything that the products that need to be notified within the scope of "Non-Medical Veterinary Health Products Regulation" are not medicine. Non-Medical Veterinary Health Products do not have any claims as being medication but are used for animal health. You can also called "Non-Medical Veterinary Health Products" as "Animal Cosmetics". The product groups evaluated may be listed as follows;
- Cosmetic Products: Products applied by external intervention such as skin, breast, teat, nail, hoof, ear of animals are included in "Non-Medical Veterinary Health Products". "Non-Medical Veterinary Health Products" under the heading Cosmetic Products can be summarized as cleaning, protecting or maintaining good condition, changing smell or appearance.
- Products such as chlorine neutralizers used in drinking water to remove or bind unwanted substances in the water: These products are added to the drinking water of animals and remove the harmful substances from the environment. It removes unwanted substances from the environment or by connecting them with chlorine-like structures. It must not be considered as disinfectants because these products do not have a disinfectant claim.
- Regulators that affect the properties such as humidity and odor of pads used in animal shelters: As it is understood from the definition, these product groups are used not for direct animals but for the purpose of eliminating the moisture, odor etc. of the materials used for animals or animals’ shelters.
- External application-specific and cosmetic-like products that are not primarily a medical effect but are used as ancillary treatment due to the substances they contain.
- Products intended to improve the habitat of animals by being used in aquarium waters.
