Definition of the Biodegradability within the scope of the "Turkish Detergent Regulations’’
Surfactants are used in conjunction with oxygen until they are consumed by microorganisms. This process results in the carbon dioxide, water and mineralization of other elements, such as mineral salts. The resulting degree of biodegradability resulting from the separation into microbial cell components in this manner is termed the "ultimate aerobic biodegradability" within the scope of Turkish Detergent Regulation.
