A Brief History of the Legislations on Biocidal Products in Turkey
If you claim that a product is effective against microorganisms, this product is covered by the Biocidal Product. In this case, the requirements of the "Regulation on Biocidal Products No. 27449 (4th Duplicate) dated December 31, 2009" published by the Ministry of Health, must be met. Products that have such claims to be effective against microorganisms as disinfectant, antibacterial, antifungal etc., are evaluated within the scope of Biocidal Product.The history of the legislation applicable in Turkey for these products is briefly as follows.
"The Regulation on Biocidal Products No. 27449 (4th Duplicate) dated December 31, 2009" published by the Turkey Public Health Institution in Ministry of Health, has been prepared in accordance with the European Union Directive 98/8 / EC.
"Communiqué on Working Procedures and Principles of Biocidal Product Analysis Laboratories" dated on 04 April 2014 with number 5716 has been published in order to determine the procedures and principles regarding the specifications, authorization, inspections and studies of the laboratories that will carry out biocidal product analyzes.
Subsequently, a new regulation was made for the Biocidal Product Regulation and the Laboratory Communiqué. In this context, the Ministry of Health put into effect "Regulation on the Amendment of the Regulation on Biocidal Products No. 28939" on 12 March 2014 with the number 28939.
Ministry of Health Turkey Public Health Institution Environmental Health Department Presidency has published "Communiqué on Working Procedures and Principles of Biocidal Product Analysis Laboratories" dated on 22 June 2015 with the number 5102. In addition, a Biocidal Product's label MSDS should be prepared in accordance with the "Regulation on Safety Data Sheets on Hazardous Substances and Mixtures" numbered 29204 dated on 13 December 2014 and the "Regulation on Classification, Labeling and Packing of the Products and Mixtures" numbered 28848 dated on 11 December 2013.
