Triphenyl phosphate has been identified as SVHC
Details About the Meeting
In the meeting held in October by the MSC (Member State Committee), Triphenyl phosphate was recognized as a substance of very high concern (SVHC). This substance, which exhibits endocrine-disrupting properties in the environment, is expected to be added to ECHA's Candidate List in November.
Additionally, in the meeting, the invertebrate Hyalella Azteca test HYBIT, an alternative method to be used as a standard information requirement if applicable under REACH, was unanimously approved.
The recently published OECD Test Guideline 321 assesses the bioaccumulation potential of substances in aquatic environments. According to ECHA, this guideline is based on aquatic organisms and replaces tests conducted on fish. The use of this test in studies will help reduce tests conducted on vertebrate animals.
