SDS and Label Authoring Software

What is SDS?

SDS (Safety Data Sheet) is the English term for what is known in Turkish as Güvenlik Bilgi Formu. SDS is a legally required document in Turkey, Europe, and many other countries, playing a vital role in communicating the hazards related to chemicals, including risks to human health, the environment, and physical/chemical dangers.

What is EPY SDS Authoring Software?

EPY SDS and label preparation software is a tool that automates the preparation of safety data sheets and labels.

While these documents can be prepared manually, the need for speed and data consistency makes software a necessity. Chemleg, through its collaboration with the Italian software giant Telematic, has become the official distributor of EPY SDS preparation software for the Turkish market.

EPY is a robust software platform with strong regulatory and technical infrastructure, allowing the preparation of SDS in more than 30 languages in compliance with relevant national regulations. In addition to SDS preparation, the EPY Lab program enables effortless label creation that is accurate and fully compliant with regulations, giving you a competitive edge in legal compliance.

Chemleg and Telematic provide software support to help you prepare accurate, reliable, and fast safety data sheets and product labels for your chemicals.

EPY SDS and Label Authoring Modules

EPY SDS and label preparation software has a modular structure and is a tool that users can customize according to themselves. Its main modules are listed below:

  • EPY Plus Core Module
  • EPY GHS Module
  • EPY Multi-language Module
  • EPY Lab Classification and Labelling Module
  • EPY ESM Exposure Scenario Module
  • ChemFinder Chemical Data Search and Import System
  • EPY Tint Sales Point Solutions
  • EPY CDS Cosmetic Data Sheet

Details regarding the modules are below:

EPY Plus Core Module

EPY Plus is the core module of EPY, offering advanced functionality. It simplifies the SDS preparation process, allowing users to quickly process critical data such as formulation, organoleptic, and chemical-physical properties. EPY Plus supports formula management up to 10 levels and has a dynamic update infrastructure that instantly adapts to regulatory changes. It works in full compliance with chemical regulations and automates the drafting of SDS, saving your company time and optimizing business processes.

EPY UFI Module

EPY UFI eases the burden on companies by optimizing the automatic creation and management of UFI codes, which are mandatory in Europe.

EPY PCN Module

EPY PCN speeds up the poison centre notification process by assisting in the creation, management and notification of chemical product dossiers in the PCN (European Poison Centre Notification) format to the ECHA Poison Centre portal.

EPY GHS Module

EPY GHS is an additional module that can be integrated into the EPY core module. This module allows the preparation of SDS drafts not only in compliance with the CLP/REACH regulation in Europe but also for different regions like the USA (GHS OSHA), China (GHS China), and Canada (GHS Canada).

EPY Multi-language Module

With the EPY Multi-language module, labels and safety data sheets can be created in various languages such as German, Arabic, Italian, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, and more. Currently, the system supports 35 languages, with more to be added in the future.

EPY Lab Classification and Labelling Module

The EPY Lab software is a powerful solution that can be used independently for labeling chemical products or operated using classification data from the EPY Plus core module. It complies with global standards such as the European CLP Regulation (1272/2008), U.S. HCS 2012, and China GHS.

This software allows users to prepare labels for substances and mixtures, offering flexible label editing features. Additional data like batch numbers, weight, volume, date, and QR codes can be entered manually or automatically imported from external archives. The label layout can be easily adjusted using intuitive tools, and the software is compatible with all printer types, from office printers to professional models, making it suitable for automated printing processes on production lines.

This flexibility and efficiency simplify the labeling process to comply with global regulations. Click here for detailed information.

EPY ESM Exposure Scenario Module

The EPY ESM Module manages exposure scenarios for hazardous substances and mixtures in compliance with regulations. This module allows scenarios to be added to the SDS when generating extended SDS (eSDS), import scenarios from external files, and automatically select appropriate scenarios. Integrated with EPY.Storage and EPY.Delivery, it also offers the possibility of automatically distributing exposure scenarios and SDSs, supporting compliance with safe use conditions.

ChemFinder Chemical Data Search and Import System

The EPY ChemFinder module allows users to search for chemical substances using CAS, EC, INDEX numbers, or chemical names by utilizing data registered in the ECHA portal. This module is used to compile data necessary for the preparation of safety data sheets (SDS) for chemicals, including:

  • Chemical-physical data: Boiling point, vapor pressure, water solubility, etc.
  • Toxicological data: LD50, LC50, DNEL, etc.
  • Ecotoxicological data: LC50/EC50, NOEC, biodegradability, etc.
  • Transport and classification data: The latest classifications harmonized with ATP.

The module ensures the transfer of these data into the EPY Plus system and monitors updates to existing data.

EPY Reporting Manager Module

EPY Reporting Manager Module is a module that takes EPY beyond preparing Safety Data Sheets. With this module, EPY is no longer just an SDS preparation software but a “chemical management system”. Click here for more information.

EPY Tint Sales Point Solutions

EPY Tint is a practical solution designed for point-of-sale applications, allowing retailers to automatically calculate labels and safety data sheets based on semi-finished products provided by the manufacturer. This solution helps prepare hazard labels and safety data sheets using the manufacturer's database, and it supports the inclusion of ADR transport documents, UFI codes, and component concentrations on labels.

Its modular structure offers different functions based on compositions and supports safety data with extended SDS (eSDS) and Exposure Scenarios.

EPY CDS Cosmetic Data Sheet

EPY+.CDS is a data sheet management software for cosmetic products and operates in integration with EPY Plus. Since cosmetic products are exempt from the SDS and hazard labeling requirements under REACH Title IV, this software facilitates the reporting of chemical-physical properties and generates CDSs in 33 languages for cosmetic products. It is also useful as a risk assessment tool for professional users.
